New Holland Skid Steers Gaining Momentum in Markets with the 300 Series

Nearly half a century ago, the manufacturer New Holland unleashed their first skid steer heavy machine the L35 that brought along with it some of the most unique innovations of its time including superior vertical lift linkage, lengthy wheelbase for better stability and hydrostatic transmissions to boot. The L35 was a class act that raised the benchmark that forced other manufacturers to follow suit to remain relevant.

New Holland has made a comeback in a very big way with its latest 300 Series skid steers that have been built on the success factors of the L35 such as enhanced visibility for operators, superior stability and user friendly controls. Their latest skid steer according to New Holland’s product development team consists of the most advanced technology available out there related to hydraulic machines such as the patented Super Boom vertical lift linkage, straight line tracking enhancements, upgraded electrical harnesses and an 8-in. multifunction LCD display complete with a backup camera just to mention a few.

Power Ratings and Operational Capacity of the 300 Series Skid Steers

The new 300 Series by New Holland offers six different versions of skid steers that are fitted with engines offering between 60HP to 90HP with their operational capacities ranging between 1,600Lbs and 3,400Lbs. Their lift range (height) ranges 9Ft 4Inches to almost 12 FT. Four from the six models subscribe to the vertical lift super boom concept which delivers exceptional forward dumping height and as well as reach.

The remaining two models subscribe to radial lift concepts which render them as superior digging machines. As for the larger skid steers from New Holland such as the L234 (90 HP) tier 4 engine which replaces the L230, the machine is fitted with the Selective Catalytic Reduction Technology. The machine has a rated operating capacity of a whopping 3,400 LBS.

Mini Crawler Excavators by New Holland

The developments of New Holland’s mini crawler excavators are equally commendable given the fact that a series of new tech has been made available for these machines such as New Holland’s Object Handling Kit making their mini excavators as versatile as Kubota and Kobelco excavators for hire. The manufacturer only recently launched fifteen new mini excavators ranging for 1 ton to 6.5 tons.

From the 15 models that were released, two of the models are electric powered (zero emission machines) and all of them feature either zero tail swing or short radius models. The smallest of the excavators the E12D (zero tail swing) and the E14D (short radius) both feature retractable undercarriage and have a width of only 790mm enabling these machines to crawl through narrow pathways with ease.

The electric mini excavators are a first for New Holland following in the footsteps of Kubota and Komatsu, the E15X guarantees an 8 hour operation with just one hour of fast charging. These machines have undergone rigorous tests for landscaping, agricultural and horticulture applications and based on performance benchmarks. The batteries are cobalt free and the bio hydraulic oil makes these machines superiorly eco-friendly.

According to Doran Heritt, the head of construction equipment marketing executive, “it has always been New Holland’s   strategy to improve on our range of machines that are targeted at improving the satisfaction of customers using equipment that bears our brand”.

Everything from the level of soil disturbance to track mud build up and cab ergonomics to user friendliness is taken into consideration before even a design is rolled out for approval. New Holland has indicated that they will be expanding into new regional markets and will be competing with other manufacturers within the spectrum of the heavy machine industry on a global scale soon.
